I understand that unanticipated events and illness occur in everyone’s life. With that in mind, and in an effort to provide the best experience for all of my clients, I have adopted the following policies. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions regarding this information.

What to expect

Whether you’re new to my practice or a long-standing client, we will begin every session with a conversation surrounding the reason for your visit, goals and expectations. Once we’ve established a session plan, I leave the room to wash my hands while my client gets on the massage table. I’ll explain how to get on the table as well as advise my clients to undress to whatever level they feel most comfortable. For the comfort and safety of my clients, I practice modest draping, only undraping the area that I am working on. Throughout the session my clients and I might chat, but some clients prefer silence, and some may even take a nap! Regardless, I like to keep an open line of communication in case we need to make any modifications throughout the session. Once our time is up, I’ll leave the room so my client can dress in privacy. Following the session, we’ll discuss my findings, how you are feeling, and suggestions for self-care. Together we’ll establish a plan for future visits.

Cancellation/
Late Policy

In order to cancel or reschedule your appointment with no charge, I require a minimum of 24-hour notice. If a cancellation occurs within 24 hours of your appointment, you will be charged 50% of your scheduled service. For no-call or no-shows, you will be charged 100% of your scheduled service. For extenuating circumstances, you may request an exception which will be accepted or denied at my discretion.

If you are running late, please contact me at (781) 570-9500. If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. In this instance, you will still be responsible for paying for the full session.

Health/Liability

  • If you are sick, I ask that you please contact me to reschedule your appointment. Massage can exacerbate the illness and also puts myself and my other clients at risk for infection.

  • I ask that you arrive to your session with good hygiene and cleanliness, as you can expect the same from me.

  • For your safety, I encourage you to not come to a session under the influence of drugs or alcohol, as this may mask your body’s ability to receive the work safely.

I treat your health, as well as those you come in contact with, with the utmost care and responsibility.

After the client consult, prior to the session beginning, then again immediately following the session, my hands, forearms and elbows will all be cleaned.

Following each client session, I will change out all table linens. The massage table/table warmer and face cradle are all protected with a vinyl cover in order to keep things sanitary and allow for proper disinfecting between clients. In addition to the massage table, all high-touch surfaces will be cleaned including seating, door knobs, light switches, etc. Massage cream containers, oils, tablet, and anything else used during a session, will all be wiped down and disinfected. The flooring in my office is cleaned regularly.

CLEANING PROCEDURES

Scope of Practice

If a client presents with an ailment that is outside my scope of practice, I will do my best to refer that client to a qualified professional. As a massage therapist I am unable to diagnose, however with my clients’ best interests in mind, I will recommend seeing a professional when necessary.

Relationships/
Behavior

My relationship with my clients is strictly professional. Sexual, abusive and/or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and will lead to termination of the session. In this instance, full payment for the session will be required.
